The Professional Services offered by Registered Surveyors towards enhancing the beauty of the Environment in line with the standard practice can not be over emphasized.
The body is equally involved in offering Professional advice on all land related matters with a view to meet the need of the people.
These were the submissions of the Ogun State chairman of the Nigerian Institution of Surveyors, Surv Ademola Adebowale and the Secretary Association of Practicing Professionals Surveyors of Nigeria (APPSN) Surv Stephen Adeyanju while featuring on "The Surveyors And You"on Ogbc FM enlightenment Program in Abeokuta.
According to the chairman, the production of up to date information and mapping of the Environment, indetification of a particular location,providing satellite imagery information and the construction of edifice or a particular infrastructure should not be left in the hands of quacks,therefore the need for Surveyors to be be in tune with the latest approach o the job and be committed to the ideals of the profession.
He noted that Surveyors are actually involved in the identification of a particular location and boundary of landed properties and many other things related to construction, adding that being a Surveyor is beyond carrying an educational certificate.
On his part, the APPSN, Secretary, said to be a Surveyor such person must possess academic certificate be registered with the Surveyor Registration Council of Nigeria (SURCON),pass through some professional examinations and undergo project presentation adding that after Registration and investiture, such Surveyor will be given a seal which carries their name and registration number.
The Surveyors adviced the member of the public to patronise registered Surveyors and be mindful of who they transact with, they equally encourage the people request such Surveyor surcon certificate and registration number
