Tension In Community As Dreaded Youths Go On Rampage

Palpable fear and anxiety yesterday enveloped  the Elepe Community in Ikorodu area of  Lagos State when  some  youths threw  decorum into the wind creating tension in the ever busy community. 

 The youths, suspected to have been hired by a business Mogul,whose name was given as Chief Olowoosebikan Egunjobi, were  alleged to have been paid to deal with one  Mr Egunjobi Emmanuel, for refusing to join a secret cult group ,the Ogboni confraternity.

 Emmanuel's Uncle,Chief Egunjobi Olowoosebikan was said to be behind the sinister plan after Emmanuel who is in the late 30s had vehemently turned down an invitation by his Uncle,that he should join the Ogboni confraternity of which he is a staunch member

Chief Olowoosebikan was said to have insisted that his Nephew,Emmanuel joined the group after he  had revealed some workings,particularly,the secrets of the group ,to him.

Pandemonium reigned in the community as the youths moved from one house to another  breaking wind screens of vehicles and molesting innocent people. 

It was reliably gathered that the ravaging youths forced their ways into the residence of Mr Egunjobi Emmanuel on 13 ,Alokan street,in Ikorodu,shouting "We won't leave,if  you refuse to come out from your hiding and today is your last day on earth ,among others"

The  youths who were also suspected to be members of the group ,forced commercial activities to an abrupt end with social miscreants ,hijacking the situation.

During their alleged show of shame,a sixty year Old woman who was sitting in front of her house, a few metres from  Emmanuel's residence, was hit by stray bullets and was quickly rushed to a private hospital for medical attention.

It took officers of a local vigilance group in the area, hours to put the rowdy situation under control ,even as the youths vowed  a return visit to the area to get Emmanuel, who ,findings revealed had fled to an unknown destination.

As at the time of filling this report,the entire Elepe Community still wore a desolate look as residents had scampered for safety,promising not to return home as they feared that they could be attacked  by the notorious youths, who operated in one community for hours.
