Another history was made at the Four Square Gospel Church, Abeokuta District, with the installation of new District Overseer Rev'd Anthony Olaniyi Alawode and his wife Pastor Mrs Emilomo Alawode after the retirement of Rev'd Adedimeji Alade Adegbesan as the District Overseer and South West co-ordinator of the church.
The installation reflected the beginning of Four Square Gospel Church in Abeokuta 45 years age with18 brethren in 1978.
In his message tittled " New Beginning" The General Overseer Rev (Dr) Sam Aboyeji represented by The National Secretary Rev Yomi Oyinloye, encouraged the new District Overseer to be steadfast and be committed to the new assignment and brass up fer new challenges associated with the new office, quoting many scriptures. Isaiah 43: 1-11 and verse18 to buttressed his message he also used Phillip in Acts 8:5 as the case study when he was on missionary mission.
In his charge, using John 4:34 and John 9:4. The General Overseer said 4 major keys are needed to succeed in ministerial assignment, they are discerning spirit, complete obedient, vision and diligent.
"Just as Abraham obeyed the call of God in Genesis 12:13, who became a fool for God and was made full.
The only Scripture reading for the installation was taken from Isaiah 43:1-11 and read by Rev Isaac Oluwagbemiga District Overseer Obada Idiemi District.
Rev Anthony Olaniyi Alawode is the first indigenous District Overseer who was chosen from Abeokuta District to become the Overseer in the District,.
Born over 50 years ago., he joined the Four Square Gospel Church It's Iyalode, Abeokuta in 1991.Served in various capacity of the church.
Dignitaries at the installation includes, the National Secretary, Rev Yomi Oyinloye, his wife and some national executives, Rev Adedimeji Adegbesan and his wife, Rev Jonathan Koleade Ita Oshin District and his wife, Rev Isaac Oluwagbemiga Idi Emi District Overseer and his wife and other District Overseers
