Two men in Lagos caught in homosexuality, handed over to the police

Two men have been arrested by the Vigilantes group in Ikija, Egan area of Lagos State for allegedly engaging in homo

sexual acts.

Speaking with journalists yesterday, the commandant of the vigilante group disclosed that yesterday  some youths in collaboration with the vigilante group were informed of an act of immorality being committed by two men suspected to be gay at an hotel in Ikija , Egan area of Lagos State.

"When we got there, we caught them red-handed. One of the partner is an Hausa while the other partner is somebody that is very known in the community. His name is Tunde Sosanya.

We arrested them and handed them over to the police, and we were there when police were interrogating Tunde Sosanya and in the process of interrogation, he mentioned some of the people he engaged in acts of homosexuality with.

He mentioned one Odulaja Victor Oladipupo, and two others.

"To ensure that the police did their job well, we led them to Odulaja Victors home at No 18, Ikija Street, Egan, we saw his wife and later we arrested the husband who we thought was a good man.

"When Victor was interrogated, he confessed to be a bisexual. 

"Our thoughts was that Police will take them to court the following day, but to our amazement, we saw Tunde Sosanya and Victor Odulaja again in the community the following week, and that's why the youths are now protesting that they must be dealt with in their crude way.

The commandant of the vigilante group said both men were handed over to the police entry was made and the case referred for detailed investigation and proper prosecution

Also speaking, a Youth leader, Idris Oderinde said the duo of Victor and Tunde are bad elements that should not be allowed to live with human beings, they portend great danger to the society, Our Society abhours acts of homosexuality and any attempt to introduce, or practice it within the Community will be seriously resisted.

All attempts by Our correspondent to speak to the duo of Tunde Sosanya and Victor Odulaja were unsuccessful as calls put across to them through their phone was not picked.

It could be recalled that in January 2014, Nigeria signed the same-sex marriage between persons of the same sex. 

The law forbids any cohabitation between same-sex sexual partners to show same-sex amorous relationships.

The punishments are severe, ranging from 10 to 14 years imprisonment.

It is also considered an abomination in the communities.
