Fish sellers and cold room owners in the state have appealed to the Ogun state Governor, Dapo Abiodun to come to their aid by scrapping a new policy introduced into the fish business.

The Fish sellers and cold room owners in a statement made available to newsmen and signed by about fifty people complained that the new policy has reportedly brought more hardship and low patronage to their business.

In the statement, they lamented that the introduction of N2, 000 by the task force set up by the state government has only brought monopoly and hardship to the fish business.

They urged Governor Abiodun to reverse the policy that is becoming a "pain in their ass".

The statement reads partly, "We the fish sellers and cold room owners are using this medium to appeal to the Ogun state Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun to help reverse the policy.

"This is not like transport union where a certain amount can be collected on passengers.

"We are also hustling to meet ends meal, and the governor need to help us and scrap the whole task force.

"Imagine collecting N2, 000 on a carton of fish, that will automatically affect the price we will sell such fish.

"This is a wicked policy and it has brought about low patronage since there is increase in the price. How do you expect us to gain when there exorbitant charges we need to cater for.

"We urged the government to end this and let us return to the way we run the business in the past."
