Some Youths of the Atapele Kingdom in the Ibrapa Local Government of Oyo State went rampage on Sunday, 14th of March, 2021 over the choice of Prince Kabiru Ayodeji Gbemisola  as the choice of the King  makers to fill the vacuum of the Oba of Atapele Kingdom.

Eye witness reported that shortly after the arrival of Prince Ayodeji Fasina who is a blood brother of the Oba Elect in Atapele Kingdom and his purportedly emergency meeting with the stakeholders in the kingdom, youths in the community took to the streets of Atapele Kingdom and set ablaze properties belonging to the Oba –Elect who is due for the Ipebi (the sacred room where all kingship fortification is carried out)in couple of days.

An insider in the meeting who pleaded anonymity said Prince Fasiu is so much angered that the king makers preferred the candidacy of  his brother prince Ayodeji Kabir Gbemisola who he described to have turned himself into an Allien in the community over the years due to his flourishing business all over the urban areas in the country.

He was reported to have  described his Senior brother (Oba Elect) to have shown a lackadaisical attitude to the development of Atapele kingdom in recent times past He also accused his brother to have abandored his people, culture and tradition after the demise of the former king who joined their ancestors dacades ago.

He therefore assured his supporters of his resolve to seeing that his brother; the Oba-elect does not ascend the throne because of he sees him as not fit enough to rule the kingdom.

During a telephone conversation with our correspondents; Muyiwa Babatope; the head, kingmaker, Chief Awoniyi said the choice of Prince Ayodeji Kakabir Gbemisola over his brother prince Ayodeji Fasiu was due to the exposure of the Oba-elect whom all the king makers believed would bring speedy development to the community as against the candidacy  of his brother Prince Ayodeji Fasiu who is a member of the national union of road transport workers whom is widely believed to be a thug by the general populace.

Part of the properties belonging to the Oba-elect which was set ablaze are Kabayode filling station along Ogunpola road, after pele his country home very close to the filling station and his hotel, kabayode inn and lodge.
