The head of a private security outfit in Sunnyvale Estate, Abuja, Mr. Franklin Oyesainu, at the weekend expressed outrage over the presence of some men he described as "evil doers" in the estate.
Mr. Oyesainu explained that the men in question, according to findings, were traditionalists who were after a resident of the estate who was involved in a traditional rift with his kinsmen back home in Ondo State.
"I received a distress call from the security operatives at the estate gate informing me of the presence of some people in our estate .The men were trying to enter our estate to cause mayhem, but were immediately disallowed entry into the Estate and were consequently chased back by a combined security operative team" Oyesainu said.
He dislosed that from reports gathered, he men were in the Estate to pick a resident, Mr Odewusi Oluwasegun for allegedly stepping on the toes of elders in his community in far away Ondo State.
Addressing members of the security unit in the estate during their meeting, the Security Head,
said that the mission of the traditionalists was sinister and called for the alertness of the security operatives before any harm was done to any member of the Estate.
"We have through discrete investigations, found out that the occultic-looking individuals were searching for one of the residents in this Estate, Mr. Odewusi Oluwasegun."Mr. Oyesainu disclosed, noting further that the offense of Mr. Odewusi, a banker was that he refused to take a traditional "occultic" title offered to him by his kinsmen,an offense which we learnt is punishable under the native rule of where Mr Odewusi Olusegun, hails from" Mr Oyesainu clarified further.
"We learned on good authority that those people wanted Mr. Odewusi to surrender his child for ritual,as prerequisite for the occupation of the said stool and the has refused to succumb to the pressure from thus creating serious crisis between his and his people from home" he concluded
He noted that each time the traditionalists approach the Sunnyvale estate,as their search for Oluwasegun gathered momentum , but never gained access into the estate because of the level of security in the estate, the Security Head added.
"We noticed that they have through serious networking been combing the nooks crannies of our estate in an attempt to get Mr Odewusi at all cost, to occupy a traditional Occultic stool , " he added.
Oyesainu explained that he was informed that the Odewusi family became embroiled in a rift with traditional Occultic leaders of the confraternity in 2000 after the occupant of the stool passed on,noting that the father of Oluwasegun whose family's turn was to produce the next person for the stool, turned down the offer after the Oracle had picked him for the title.
" We learnt that while Oluwasegun 's father who was also a banker, also insisted that he was not interested in the vacant stool in year 2000,,he was murdered in cold blood and in a mysterious circumstance by yet to be identified assailants" the head of security noted.
He said that the continued search by the so called Occultic individuals had forced Mr Odewusi to run away for his life,as he left Abuja, with his wife,Oluwakemi and their three children,Moroluwayo,Morolayo , Monjolaoluwa .who were born before the travail of their father began.
