The people of Ado-Atan-Agbara-Igbesa-Lusada, as well as companies in the area have been assured of government's continued efforts at ameliorating the sufferings they are experiencing due to bad roads.
The Governor of the State, Prince Dapo Abiodun, stated this while receiving a group called 'Save Ado-Atan-Agbara-Igbesa roads campaign group in his office, at Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta.
Represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Mr. Tokunbo Talabi, Abiodun reitetrated his administration's commitment to see that efficient road network is achieved in the State.
Abiodun while listing some measures already put in place to include; grading of roads, putting stone and laterite where nessesary, assured residents and road users that ''pallative work is ongoing, the road will be passable".
"We acknowledge your agitation, we are doing everything humanly possible to fix the road. A bank and Some companies are forming club to assist us in doing this road".
According to him, "the Commissioner for works and Infrastructure is there to access the road and get back to government. I can assure you that work has already commenced on that road. other things will follow, as we want to see commercial activities taking place here".
He thereafter, appreciated the group for the dialogue, promising that his administration would not let the people down.
Also speaking, the permanent secretary, Ministry of Works and Infrastructure, Engr. Lateef Yusuf. said, the ministry has already moved tractors and other equipments to the area, saying palliative work had also began, as "people will begin to see changes, as far as road in the area is concern".
Earlier in his opening speech, one of the coordinator, 'Save Ado-Atan-Agbara-Igbesa-Lusada roads campaign group, Comrade Adebori Abogun said, the poor conditions of the roads has brought physical and economic hardship to the people of the area, particularly, the companies that were located in the State industrial area.
He commended the Dapo Abiodun administration for being a listening and responsive one, promising to play their own roles as partners in the rebuilding agenda.
