#EndSARS Protest: Lagos residents count loses after the crisis

Following the outcome of the widely described peaceful protest by the Nigerian youths which was hijacked by some hoodlums across Nigeria very recently, Nigerians who were affected with the wanton looting and properties vandalization and burning have continued to give account of their ordeals in the nefarious fallout of the protest.
Our South West correspondent Seun Aruwajoye reports that some of the properties set ablaze in the region were owned by politicians whom their constituents have had a fallout with before now. While speaking with our correspondent in Agege area of Lagos State, a victim: Mrs. Folashade Ashade whose shop was looted said the wanton looting was orchestrated by some hoodlums who have been terrorizing the area before now.She said on the faithful day, fierce looking youths invaded her shop and started looting all her goods. She also claimed that her proceeds for the day was carted away by the miscreants.
" The boys invaded my shop wielding clubs and cutlasses and were fierce looking. Without saying a word, they started carrying all my wares and before I could know it, about 15 hoodlums carted away my goods worth millions of Naira". Giving his own account Alhaji Enilolobo Kashimawo also in the Agege axis of Lagos, lamented that his house was broken into and looted by the rampaging youths.
He claimed that all his glass windows were broken, his car was vandalized, body parts like the battery, headlights, bumpers, tyres e.t.c. were carted away. He berated the government for allowing the hoodlums hijack the peaceful protest. "Government should have provided adequate securities for the protesting youths who had a genuine intentions for protesting.
Everything is being politicized in Nigeria." An eyewitness within the neighborhood of the property which was set ablaze on Elere Street in the Agege Motor road area and was confirmed to belong to Hon. Ahmed Ipoola Omisore said the hoodlums who were already angered, while they were moving enmass towards the house were heard shouting "Honourable, bring back your wife, let her come and face the law, you were part of the Legislatures that made the law and now that your wife has fallen into the trap, you are shielding her from the law by sending her out of the country in order to protect her. We are not animals, we are all equal.
Anyone who fouls the law must surely face the consequences". Saying that he was part of the process that has failed them. He further ascertained that Mrs. Olayemi Mary Omisore was accused of being a Bisexual sometimes ago. They were said to had further threatened that "iyan ogun odun a maa joni lowo felifeli" meaning that(no matter how long it takes, she will still face the law whenever she's seen around).
While giving his own account, the elder statesman and grassroot politician; Hon. Ahmed Ipoola Omisore said he was short of words. Speaking with our correspondent on the telephone, Hon. Omisore said his house which was set ablaze in the Agege axis of Lagos State was politically masterminded. He berated the youths who set his house ablaze. He claimed to have served his constituents meritoriously without blemish for eight years that he was representing them at the Lagos State House of Assembly. He said he doesn't deserve such heinous acts from some unscrupulous elements within the youths in Agege. He spoke further by claiming that some of the boys who invaded his house and set it ablaze was shouting chants "awon lon se ofin, awon lon ru" (they are the one making laws and they are the one breaking it).
He however thanked God that no life was lost during the time the house was set ablaze. When our correspondent tried to probe further about the allegations levelled against his wife, Hon. Omisore declined to make comment on it. While going round the torched areas in Ogun State, the case was not much different but for the loss suffered from some politicians who were believed to be a close ally of the ex governor; Senator Ibikunle Amosun whom have been experiencing victimization before now their resolve was that the outbreak of law and order in the state was orchestrated by the political gladiators in the state headed by the incumbent governor; Prince Dapo Abiodun.
While speaking with our correspondent in the Ibara country home of the former Governor Amosun, the factional publicity Secretary of the All Progressive Congress in the State, Chief Aileru Akinola said two properties belonging to Hon. Fabunmi Abike Osenat Modupeola and Hon. Bankole Jamiu who were very close ally of the former Governor were burnt down within the Ibara Housing Estate alone.
Speaking further, he claimed that Hon. Adebayo Lekan Ogundairo who was the Special Adviser to the former Governor on Governor's office property which was lying and situated at No.2 Ife-Olu close, Ijeja Abeokuta was also razed down.
The emotionally broken Chief Aileru also cailmed that Hon. Ibironke Femi's house was torched at 75, Sokenu road, Oke Ijeun Abeokuta. While an aged man was burnt while the property of Hon. Okusi Ayodola Mayowa at Kemta Housing Estate, Idi-Aba was set on fire. In Osun state where the government recorded the worst attack and looting, the Attorney General and Commissioner of Justice in the state; Femi Akande berated the youths who attacked the convoy of the governor while the governors was associating with the genuine protesters.
He also condemned the wanton looting in the strongest possible terms while imploring residents of the state to be law abiding and report any suspecting hoodlums who was actively involved in the looting. Parents and guardians are advised to make sure that any looted items within their house is returned to the nearest police station as the government is bent on punishing perpetrators of the dastardly acts.
