The home of a middle aged man, Philemon Uchechukwu located in Abuja, was recently attacked by youths and some area boys in the area.
The attack was an outcome of the involvement of Philemon Uchechukwu in a same sex act, and the failure of the law enforcement agency to bring him to justice due to the allegation that he may have bolted away from the country.
Speaking to Our Correspondent, an eyewitness who pleaded for anonymity, said the hoodlums who were mainly youths from the Community attacked the home of the popular bisexual, Phil, on August 1st, 2025, accusing him of engaging in bisexualism, an act considered as an abomination and sacrilegious to the community.
Philemon Uchechukwu was said to have engaged in a same sex act with one Abdul Abubakar on August 12, 2023, and the duo were unlucky as a family member of Abdul Abubakar caught the two while in action, a situation that led to scuffle in the community.

The attack led to the intervention of law enforcement agencies who wade in to save the situation from further crisis as according to the report, the attackers were determined to set the whole house ablaze.
Speaking on the latest attack which occurred due to the insistence of Abdul Abubakar's father, insisting that Philemon should be fished out from wherever he might be hidden, and the youths should use Sharia law to deal with them.
"This led the hoodlums to invade Philemon's house in Abuja and destroyed many of his properties.
Though Philemon whereabouts was unknown as an unconfirmed report says he may have escaped from Nigeria.
Our source noted that since Nigeria enacted the Same-Sex Marriage (Prohibition) Act in 2014 by President Goodluck Jonathan, those who show attributes or are perceived to be members of Lesbian, bisexual, gay and transgender, LGBT, have been ridiculed, attacked and dehumanized in the country.
He confirmed that same-sex relationship is strictly prohibited in Nigeria following the enactment of the Same-Sex Marriage (Prohibition) Act in 2014.
The law criminalizes the solemnization, operation, and public display of same-sex marriages and imposes a 10-year prison sentence on anyone who “registers, operates or participates in gay clubs, societies and organizations” or “supports” the activities of such organizations. Punishments are severe, ranging from 10 to 14 years in prison.
