The entire Taiwo Ogunjobi Crescent in Victoria Island of Lagos state was midweek thrown into pandemonium when some Islamic fundamentalists visited the place

The fundamentalists, according to sources, were  in the area in search of a middle aged man, Olaleye Ogunmokun who they accused of converting to Christianity against the wish of his parents, who are deeply rooted in Islam.

The travail of Olaleye, as revealed by one of his siblings, Mr Olayiwola Ogunmokun, a business tycoon in Abeokuta, Ogun state, started from his secondary school days.

The now embattled Olaleye who works as a dietitian at Euracare Multispecialist Hospital, Lagos, was said to have been lured into the Apostolic Faith by his girl friend, whose parents, it was learnt made his conversion a prerequisite for them to approve his planned future relationship with their daughter

It was learnt that sequel to the decision unilaterally taken by the dietitian, he had since been under serious threat by some Islamic Adherents who continually sent threat messages and calls to him,to revert to his parents' religion or get attacked.

Mr Olayiwola Ogunmokun while speaking with newsmen explained that his younger brother had been living in fear following their father's disapproval of his brother's decision.

"Just yesterday I received a report that Olaleye's residence on 42b Taiwo Ogunjobi Crescent was visited  by some Islamic miscreants, who I learnt left a message for my brother that his life would be in danger, if refused to go back to Islam and this threat has made him to run for his life" Olayiwola said with worries.

"We have held series of family meetings to save Olaleye from further harassment and intimidation, but our efforts are yet to yeild friutful result as my brother still live a life full of uncertainty, occasioned by threat to his life" Mr Olayiwola Ogunmokun added with noslagia.

He explained that residents of Taiwo Ogunjobi crescent were even shocked with the presence of the miscreants who sang strange songs as they called for Olaleye's head should he fail to do the needful.

"It is even more disgusting to hear that these Islamists  traced the boy to his work place at Euracare Multispecialist Hospital, Lagos where he works as a dietitian, , threatening to get him at all costs" the man added, noting "to save his life, Olaleye has relocated from Lagos, where he was based to an unknown place to live with one of his siblings"

“Since he left Lagos, there have been series of calls to those of us close to him to produce him. Though our religion, Islam forbids such parralel religious movement, we have been appealing to the die  hards amongst our family to allow Olaleye a breathing space"  he concluded.
