Notorious Kidnap Kingpin Nabbed In Ondo State

Nemesis at the weekend caught up with a member of a kidnap syndicate terrorizing some parts of Ondo State,when he was nabbed by security agents. 


The suspect, whose name was given as Abubakar Nuru ran into the hands of members of a vigilance group, after his gang had successfully operated in Alagbaka area of Akure,the state capital. 


It was gathered that Abubakar and his gang had, during their operation which lasted about an hour, kidnapped a secondary school girl and were  escaping towards a bush path with her, when the vigilance group, led by a shoe designer in the area, Segun Odunwo swooped on them. 


While other members of the kidnap gang, escaped in to the bush,with their victim, luck, it was, learnt, ran out on Abubarkar as he was apprehended during the ensuing encounter.


The nabbed, kidnapper,impeccable sources, revealed, had been fingered in series of kidnap cases within and outside Ondo state in the last two, years, making him the most wanted kidnap kingpin in the state. 


Irate youths in Alagbaka community were about setting the arrested kidnapper ablaze,when some elders in the community prevailed on them, to jettison the idea,because of the likely consequence of such jungle justice on the community. 


The entire Alagbaka community was thrown into jubilation, following the unprecedented feat by the Vigilance group, as residents trooped to the streets, singing the praises of Segun and members of his team. 


It was gathered that the arrested kidnap suspect had since been handed over to the Police for further investigation while the family of the kidnapped secondary school girl, were said to have opened communication line with the gang, with the aim of discussing the issue of ransom with them.


When newsmen visited the residence of the kidnapped school girl,in the area, her mother, Mrs Modupe Ajakaye was seen weeping,uncontrollably, refusing to be consoled while her father, Mr Solomon Ajakaye, was said to be out of town
