Ogun LP elects new Exco

Ogun State chapter of Labour (LP) on Sunday conducted  state congress to bring on board fresh hands to run the affairs of the party for the next three years.

In the election which was by affirmation took place in Abeokuta the State capital saw,  Ashade Micheal emerging as the State Chairman 

Engr. Michael Feyisola was elected the new secretary, while Gbadebo Fesomade 

became the new treasurer.

Other newly elected officials were, Yinka Tokunbo Adeboye, Deputy State Chairman, Prince Kazeem Adesina, Deputy State Chairman, Chief Jagun Abiodun Deputy State Chairman, Chief Ope Ijaola, Oguntola C.Y, Deputy State Chairman, Olufemi Olusola, Deputy State Chairman.

Olatunde Abolade, Assistant Secretary, Wale Okusanya, Assistant State Secretary Mrs Oladimeji Temidayo, State Financial Secretary and Jide Amusan, State Publicity Secretary.

The Party elected Tosin Meadows as it's State Organizing Secretary, Barr. Mawah Monday, the State Legal Adviser.

Addressing the delegates shortly before the election, the National Publicity Secretary of the Party, Comrade Abayomi Oluwafemi Arabambi said the party was being re-engineered with a focus to do battle with the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2023 general elections by fielding candidates in all the elective positions.

He said: “Let me assure all of you here that in 2023 Labour Party will be the most credible, most acceptable and the most sought after party in Ogun State. 

We are going to contest to win all elective positions, we are very going to chase Dapo Abiodun and APC away at the governorship level, they will not win all the seats in the Senate, House of Representatives and House of Assembly as was the case in the past.”

The new chairman, Ashade Micheal, in his acceptance speech said the party was poised to be the third force in the state, calling on members to embarke on membership drive exercise across the state and therefore charged party leaders, stakeholders and members to close ranks, preparatory to the general elections.

He said LP was beginning the process of growth to retake its rightful position and assured that the party would not be a push over in 2023 elections.

He expressed satisfaction with the conduct of the election and charged the new executives to be exemplary in words and action to ensure the “party does well” in the state.
