Obafemi Owode LG Boss, Mustapha, Eulogises Gov. Abiodun, on rural development.

The  Chairman, transition committee of Obafemi Owode local government, Hon. Mustapha Abdul Fatai Eruobodo, has said that the various programmes of the State government, were  geared towards the positive transformation of the rural areas, thereby preventing rural--urban drift.

Hon Mustapha, who specifically thanked Governor Prince Dapo Abiodun, for his intervention in Agricultural sectors, which, according to him, was the main occupation of the people, living in Obafemi Owode local government, area, opined that such agricultural and infrastructural programs would,  in no distance future, transform the rural areas, and thereby, checkmate the movement of the youths to the cities, in search of employment. 

The LG Chairman, who spoke at the commissioning of some Projects embarked upon by the local government, thanked Gov. Abiodun for returning the glory of local government, adding  that as a responsible and responsive administration, Obafemi Owode local government would  continue to propagate the ideals of the Ogun State Government. 
The LG Chairman disclosed that not less than three monumental & beneficial projects were being commissioned, appealing to the host communities to make judicious use of the projects.

While commissioning the projects, the Ogun State governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, Mfr, reiterated his administration determination to transform the rural areas, and ensure that every part of the state enjoy dividends of democracy.

The Governor, who was represented at the occasion, by the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon Afolabi Afuape, thanked the entire residents of Obafemi Owode local government for believing in his administration, while promising that the government would continue to prioritize the welfare of the people.

Hon. Afuape disclosed that apart from the projects being carried out by the local government, the state had embarked on the construction of some roads, while the Agricultural programme of the State government would ensure Food sufficiency and create more jobs for the people.

The Commissioner assured the people of the LG area that the State Government would soon embark on the rehabilitation of more roads, most especially Obafe-Ogunmakin road.

"At the end of the day, farmers in the State and some of Our youths that keyed into the various Agricultural programme of this adminstration, would have good roads to transport their farm produce to the end consumers" Afuape disclosed. 


He, finally, thanked the Chairman and members of transition committee, the entire LG work force, for their steadfastness and people oriented programmes being executed, adding that the State government would continue to support all the LG, in the State,  always.

The projects commissioned included, a block of 2 classrooms, with an office and a store at Obafemi Owode local government Pry school, Oyebola village  via Ajebo community, Block of 2 classrooms  with an office and store at St Peters Anglican Nursery and Primary school, Siun.


Also commissioned is the newly rehabilitated Adedero Materninty centre in Obafemi Owode local government. 


Among the dignitaries at the event were Senior Special Adviser to the Governor on political Matters, Rt Hon Tunji Egbetokun,Traditional rulers and Baales  across the council area, APC Party Chieftains both in ogun state and Obafemi Owode local government, political functioninaries and career officer.
