Traditional Chief bemoans nonchalant attitude of indigenes to town's development

Sons and Daughters of Agura town, Sagamu have been enjoined to contribute their quotas towards the political and economic development of the town.


A chief of the town, Oluwambe Kolade gave the charge while speaking with indigenes of the area, tracing the non development of the town to the lackadaisical  approach of indigenes to various efforts aimed at developing the town.

Chief Kolade, at the inspection of the newly renovated Palace in Agura regretted that sons and daughters of the community have always turned deaf ears to positive intentions of developing the town.

“An example of what I am talking about is the decision of one of you, Prince Yemi Oyejobi not to occupy the vacant stool of his fore bearers, a decision which is not doing our town any good” he said.

He explained that he heard on good authorities that Prince Yemi’s decision was borne  out of the fact that he was trying to run away from Agura’s customs, noting “as a Prince, there is no way he could run away from making sacrifices to appease our  gods if he knows that he wants to be our King”

Alhaja fausat Oyejobi mother to Prince Yemi Oyejobi who has been running from pillar to pole to avoid his child been sacrificed before he could be made king called on elders in the town to put machinery in motion to abrogate all rules and regulations that are anti-people to ensure the development of the town.

She told indigenes of the town that her son told her in confidence that he could not open his eyes and see his daughter going through agonizing experiences, inform of circumcision.
