Police in Ludhiana, Punjab's Khanna district have
arrested a Nigerian drug peddler and recovered 200 gram of heroin from his
possession.
The accused, identified as Ezeke of Imo state,
resides at Phase-5 in Uttam Nagar West in New Delhi.
Superintendent of police, Jasvir Singh, said the accused was arrested at a checkpoint
on the national highway in Doraha on Thursday, July 25.
He was coming from the bus stand side when the
police stopped him for checking. When frisked, the police seized 200g of heroin
wrapped in a polythene bag from his possession.
According to police officials, the estimated cost of
the consignment in the international market is around Rs 1 crore.
SSP, Khanna, Gursharandeep Singh said that the
accused was booked under various sections of Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic
Substances Act at Doraha police station.
